Olympus E420/E520 cameras use iridix

With the recent launch of two new models in Olympus’s E-series of D-SLRs, Olympus has extended the range of its cameras which integrate Apical’s iridix technology as part of its Shadow Adjustment Technology feature.

Shadow Adjustment Technology has already been deployed in earlier E-series models, as well as throughout the compact mju-series range.

The optional shooting mode uses iridix to adjust shadows and highlights adaptively in real time, resulting in a properly balanced image which matches the photographer’s perception of the original scene.

Michael Tusch, CEO Apical: “We are very glad that Olympus has chosen to embed our iridix image processing technology in a key feature of its latest range of D-SLRs, and expect that introduction of these new cameras will enable a new group of Olympus E-series users to take advantage of this feature to capture images of highest quality in challenging lighting conditions.”
