D-Rex LCP-100, a real-time HD-SDI video enhancement unit co-developed by Apical, Storenet Corp and Fuji TV, won the prestigious Marbo Award at NAB 2008.
The unit implements Apical's iridix dynamic range compression engine, together with sinter and temper, Apical's spatial and temporal noise reduction cores. While fully configurable, it is designed for stand-alone operation, and typical applications include outside broadcast and sports/events coverage as well as studio environments. Via iridix, the D-Rex is able to correct automatically for uneven illumination conditions where the camera typically generates underexposed shadows or overexposed highlights.
